Jailer 2: Rajinikanth Reveals the One Shocking Thing Missing

Jailer 2 releases on October 15, and Rajinikanth says the film lacks just one thing: Tamannaah. Here is what he told director Nelson and why people are buzzing.

Jailer 2: What Did Rajinikanth Say About the Film?
Superstar Rajinikanth has put one of the year’s most anticipated Tamil films in the news with a candid remark. Speaking during the promotions of Jailer 2, the actor said the film is missing only one thing. That one thing is Tamannaah Bhatia.

Jailer 2 is set to release on October 15. It is widely seen as one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year. The comment came as the team stepped up its promotional push, and it quickly drew attention from fans and the film industry.

Jailer 2 Missing Tamannaah: The Exact Conversation
Rajinikanth said that Jailer 2 lacks just one thing, and that is Tamannaah. He added that he had asked director Nelson to include a song for her.

Nelson’s reply was polite but firm. He told the actor that he could not keep a song only because Rajinikanth liked it.

Rajinikanth then clarified his reasoning. He said he had never claimed to like it for himself. By his account, if he did only what he liked, he would have moved to Bengaluru. He said he is still in the film field because he does what the audience enjoys.

The message was clear. The superstar wants a Tamannaah number in Jailer 2 because audiences loved it in the first film. It was less a personal wish than a reading of what viewers want.

Why Tamannaah’s Song Matters to the Jailer Franchise
Jailer released in 2023 with Tamannaah in a cameo. Her song “Kaavaalaa” became a chartbuster. Its hook step went viral, and her dance moves drew wide attention.

That explains why fans keep asking whether Jailer 2 will have a similar song. The track became one of the defining pieces of the first film’s promotion. Rajinikanth’s remark suggests the team understands this pull.

So far, no official confirmation has been given about a Tamannaah song in Jailer 2. Rajinikanth’s comments show only that he wanted one and that the director did not agree to add it for personal preference alone.

Jailer 2 Cast: Who Is Returning and Who Is New?
Rajinikanth leads Jailer 2. Several actors from the first film are back. These include Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirna and Rithvik, who will reprise their roles.

New names have joined the cast as well. These include S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vidya Balan, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna.

The cameos are a major talking point. Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff appeared in a special role in Jailer. They are expected to return in Jailer 2. The sequel will also feature cameos by Hrithik Roshan and Vijay Sethupathi.

This large mix of returning and new faces has raised expectations for the film across languages and regions.

Jailer Box Office Record: The Target for Jailer 2
The first film sets a high bar. Jailer collected a net of Rs 348.55 crore in India. Its worldwide gross stood at Rs 604.50 crore. It opened with Rs 48.35 crore in India across all languages.

These numbers will be the benchmark for Jailer 2. Trade watchers will now track the opening day closely. How Jailer 2 performs at the box office will show whether the franchise can match the first film’s success.

What Happens Next for Jailer 2?
With the release only days away, the focus is on the film’s opening and audience response. Fans will also watch for any announcement about a special song. Whether Jailer 2 gets a Tamannaah number or not, Rajinikanth’s remark has added to the buzz around the film.
