Prabhas’ Fauzi Postponed to 2027: Makers Confirm Big Delay, Reveal Why
Prabhas starrer Fauzi has been postponed from its December 2026 release. Producer Ravi Shankar reveals why and hints at a 2027 date.
Fans waiting to watch Prabhas in Fauzi will have to wait a little longer. The makers of the much-anticipated period drama have officially confirmed that Fauzi has been postponed, pushing its release beyond the earlier planned date of December 3, 2026.
The update came directly from producer Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, putting an end to days of speculation among fans of the Baahubali star.
Why Was Fauzi Postponed?
According to sources close to the production, the Fauzi postponement is primarily due to pending post-production work. The makers want to ensure the film’s scale and quality match the expectations built around Prabhas’ next big-screen outing, and rushing the release was reportedly not an option they wanted to take.
While the exact new release date for Fauzi has not been announced yet, industry buzz suggests the film could now arrive sometime in 2027.
What Did the Producer Say?
Ravi Shankar addressed the Fauzi postponement on September 21, during the pre-release event of Nani’s upcoming film The Paradise. Speaking about the delay, he assured fans that the wait would be worth it.
“Fauzi is being pushed a little, but this is a next-level film. You haven’t seen Prabhas in such a stunning look since Baahubali. This is a film of that same scale. However, apologies for pushing the film slightly. You will remember it for your entire life. It’s a massive and spectacular film,” Shankar said.
His comments suggest that the extra time is being used to elevate the film’s visual and narrative scale, rather than any issue with the project itself.
Which Films Was Fauzi Set to Clash With?
Before the postponement, Fauzi was scheduled to release on December 3, 2026, putting it in direct competition with two major Telugu releases arriving a day later, on December 4, 2026:
Naga Chaitanya’s Vishwakarma
Dulquer Salmaan’s Sri Sri
With Fauzi now out of the December window, the box-office equation for that period is likely to shift significantly.
